Early Model Carpet in Late Model Car?

Will this work? I'm looking to pick up a grey carpet to replace the tan on in my 89 325i. I would also like to it be lighter, thats why I'm looking at early models or maybe a 318.

I noticed that there is a lot of foam in front footwells on my carpet. Are the early models a different shape up there so they work without the foam? I have remove the rear heating vents, so I don't need to worry about that.

    Thanks

early carpets work in late models, i have a grey carpet from a 84 318 in my 90 325is. you have to keep the rear heating vents or else its goin to sag in the that area. you substitute that area with some foam if you really dont want the vents. some e30's actually came without rear heating vents " my car" it had foam cut out just like vents
