    Glovebox latch broke

Yep, the thing broke. I searched and there is a DIY repair that the link no longer works.

The handle part just fell off leaving me with a metal "hook". I assume this is the catch that people speak of? Well anways, I tried to pull on that only to break that thing. My question is which way is that supposed to move? To the right, left, out, in? If it is the right/left I might luck out and be able to shove a screw driver to push it. If not, what should I do?

Thanks! - My hartge caps are stuck in there :(

the hook goes to the right (passenger side) and you shouldn't need a screwdriver my buddys is like that and its doable by hand

So here is an update. I coudln't flip the catch so now I started destroying it.

Question: Is the part I am hacking away at part of the glovebox or am I messing up the mount for it? I want to put a new one in after I beat this one up, but I think I am messing up the mounts.

              Advice?

So I am only damaging the glovebox? It will make good target practice!

Not having much luck. Is there a trick to this? Am i supposed to pry out the entire thing or just some pieces of it? I could drill but I am nervous because I don't know whats behind it.

had the same prblem. just put in a screw driver and break the black plastic piece... if u cant open it with the latch. after u break it u will not be able to close he glove box so make sure u have the new lock in hand... from then u can just exchange the lock internals from ur handle into the new one, then just screw it back on....
