    You basically have to trim an inch off of the bottom of the arm rest, figure out a way to mount it solidly, and then widen the E30 shifter console. I've come up with something, but it isn't something that would last.

    The interior part is coming up on my cabrio build, so I will be revisiting this. ;)

    We are now on design #3 for this. I use my armrest as a way of getting positioned into my seat as I have quite long legs. So mounting it has never been a problem, it's keeping it sturdy and maintaining that sturdiness over time with a 175 lbs person leaning on it multiple times a day.
