it smelled bad for a few days, but i left it parked on the street in the sun with the windows/top cracked and it went away. i can't smell anything anymore. should i still be worried about mold/andor rust?

Maybe.. next time, carry your spare H2O in that vastly large e30 trunk space. Course, if you remove the dead hookers first, you can can carry lots of stuff.

I would only be worried if you start smelling the wet foam :) but yeah, I would stick something under the carpet in the footwell area since the foam in that area is super thick. I know the passenger's side is easy.

the driver's side will require some more effort. honestly if you can...crumble up individual pages of newspaper and squeeze it under, then check it the next day if its wet or not :)

get back to us on how it works out!

Just make a bunch of paper balls, shove them underneath the carpet, go stand on top and walk around, then place some weights on top of the carpet and let sit for a while and remove the wet paper a couple of hours later.

          Repeat as necessary.

This happened to a golf at a shop I used to work at, except it was milk, a whole gallon, and it sat for over 4 weeks.

They totalled the car not from the bodywork, but the milk. Get some stuff called Dri Z Air... We used it all the time in leaky old cars.

Dri-Z-Air dehumidifier moisture absorber products remove excess moisture & musty smells from the air Made in the USA. Our Classic Unit Dehumidifier Moisture Absorber and Decorator Unit Dehumidifier work well in any area requiring moisture and odor control, dehumidificiation to control moisture related problems.
