    hardtop roof lining options

I know a few guys have redone or reglued their hardtop rooflining. I've reglued mine once before with the 3m spray stuff. Now its sagging again so I'm taking this opportunity to redo it in a different material. Anyone do theirs in vinyl or leather? and also include pics thanks.

I am thinking of doing mine in the vinyl they use for covering the hood, roof etc. Easy to maintain and will not have to worry about sagging. The vinyl should be easy to work under the rubber with out messing it up. Do you know whats under the cloth? I will have to clean surface before applying. I will be having ZMBLUEDEVIL do mine.

Yeah I meant hardtop on cabrio. Theres nothing but glue holding up the cloth headliner to the hardtop...so if you were to do vinyle you still have the chance of it sagging so I dont see what point your trying to make.

My question was what other materials have other ppl used to redo their hardtops.

no not the vinyl/leatherette. I am talking about vinyl car wrap. Here is a thread. http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=135600&highlight=vinyl+hood.
This should not sag at all.

The upholstery shop I go to uses a different formula of spray glue but they tell me it will eventually break down over time and start to sag.

We have a spare hardtop and plan to strip it down, seal up the inside and outside surfaces and have it painted to match the car.

                Cabrio Hardtop liner replacement

I've seen a few threads on this topic in this and the Paint & Body, Interior and E30 FAQ DIY forums. Try search in those. I plan to replace mine as well so am looking for OEM or a reproduction. Will repost here if I find a source for one. The first one lasted at least 15 years, so if I can get the substrate right then that seems to me to be the way to go.
