I had to combine two cardinal cards to get one that had both good vinyl and a good unbroken card to make the passenger side. The material that was on the good card was ok except for a 1" slice under the handle area. Instead of wasting it I got a good friend of mine to make a shift and ebrake boot out of it. The ebrake boot is still under construction.

E34 has the same controls as well. That is the climate control version however. No idea how they got that to work in an e30. You would have to swap the entire heater box. OBC is e34/e32 as well.

The reason I ask, I did this , but use small countersunk screws and nuts to hold the insert in. The pannel came out great, BUT... With the thickness of the factory fiber board plus the insert fiberboard plus the 1/4" foam and material, I couldn't get the door pull trims to stay on, or not break. So I was going to go with a thinner cardboard used for headliners. Then I tried to sew the whole cover together first than cover, I've gotten close, but the issue I keep running into is getting the inside corners of the inert to stick.
I'll probably abandon ship and go back to the 2 peice design.

The centers on the rear panels I have are separate pieces held on with clips. I am planning to do mine the same way.

Ok, I'm in the middle of doing my door cards, and it looks to me like most of you are using a separate center trim, then attaching it after covering the rest of the panel. Or are you guys doing something completely diffrent?
