    Sport seat recline mechanism broke?

If I pull the lever to adjust the seat back, the seat completely falls. Is it the gear itself and what part do I need? Tips to replace?

I believe it'll be the shock in the seat, don't think it's too tough to replace.

Not sure if you can get this aftermarket. but most likely expensive if from the dealership. Before you buy inspect to make sure it just didn't come off it's perch.

When the backrest just collapses when you pull the recline handle then for sure the backrest shocks are shot.

You'll have to take apart the seat and remove the side mechanisms to swap the backrest shocks. It's pretty straight forward but does take a bit of time if you've never done it before.

PM me your email and I'll forward you some .pdf articles on how to disassemble the seat.

If you decide to get used shocks then I recommend you get the ones that say "500N" on them. These are the shocks normally used for the height adjustment, but since they are used they're not going to be full strength anymore so they'll make good replacements for the backrest.

Good shocks will be very difficult to compress. Test them by getting on your knees, put one end of the shock on concrete, cushion your palm with a glove and lean on the shock putting your upperbody weight on it. If the shock is good then it'll take quite a bit of your weight and effort to compress it.

Last tip, when reinstalling a shock, use a 10mm socket and hammer to tap on the circlip that holds the ends of the shock in place
