    Shift knob wont stay on

My stock knob does not stay on the base of the shifter. Is it the knob or the stick? It's time for a replacement knob anyway but I want to be sure that it's the knob rather than the stick

mmmm, tempting. So what causes them to go bad as far as attaching goes ? Mine slides right off too. I noticed the shift lever has a slot in it, does the knob have a piece that breaks off inside it ? Bought both of my cars this way. Nevermind, searched and found that they have an insert. Does the knob you have for sale come with the insert?

Same problem here, knob pulls off relatively easily and spins?
