    Mounting for additional gauges

Has anyone considered or used the flat trim panel under the instrument cluster / behind the steering column to mount gauges?

I'm keen on an AFR and oil pressure gauge soon and that location seems reasonably central and flat and available.

Having pulled the cluster recently, it looks to have the foam-type material behind it that the dash is covered with, but i'm unsure if it is steel-reinforced.

    Thoughts?

Its out of any line of site, and behind all the column arms. Do not like this idea. Thats also the only connecting section of the dash under the cluster.

Ok, that might be a good reason to rule it out, but i dont think it would be necessary to cut it completely, only a hole where necessary. Will have to have a closer look to see if it really adds support.

Oh, not for me ;) Being quite tall, my hair just rubs the roof lining. I can't see the speedo from 110 - 140 (km/h) even with a 385mm Mtech1 :o
