I think they were for underglow/light up windshield wiper nozzles, and interior lighting. Only one is hooked up now and I use it to override the electric fan (I run a mechanical fan delete).

lol, it was pretty terrible. The car is a serious project and we gutted the interior. I ended up swapping in black seats and later black carpet (sort of), but still have no back seat or door panels. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to swap in a good black interior or just leave it gutted (race car style). Right now my focus is on the power train and then the exterior which needs extensive work.

Haha, nice. I got it used off a friend. They come up from time to time for sale, but you have to cut the connector off and tap into the rear ash tray or similar for power.

I believe the part number is 25112232547 and it seems like the price has gone up from the last time I looked.

but not to sure about all of them being real zhp knobs?
                if they even are lol.
They're not ZHP knobs; they're not weighted. Just the leather anatomic but with the illumination.

                I absolutely love it.

I guess it depends on what you want. I have an e39 as a fairly clean DD so the e30 can truly be a project car. I didn't want to start with anything too clean because I'd be afraid of destroying it. With this car, I have no such worries :) After the m50 is up and running, I'm going to try and mini-tub the e30!

Do you still have it? I loved my wood knob like that in the E30.

I replaced it with this, which is only just a little bit better than the old round wood knob!

For all the money makin players that aren't with is no mo.

I vote the ZHP knob, it's the best hands down. My second choice would be the taller style ones that are closer to the hight of the steering wheel.

That's still beautiful. I loved my one piece illuminated but it was a bit too tall for my tastes. And the ///M is a bit too shiny also. BUT, I'd love to pick up another lighted knob.

I confess to loving my plain-jane, shorty, door knob. It’s so unpopular. I love how obscure it is.

I remember seeing one years ago – but couldn’t quite source one. They’ve been N/A for some time. For a long while, I thought I had imagined its existence.

It’s kinda rare that I check eBay – but I remember coming home one night drunk and ran a quick eBay, ‘e30 knob’ search.. and there it was – an actual, shorty, vinyl, ‘door’ knob. Won it for less than $12 shipped. Was so happy. It was my unicorn knob.

For my interior, I really wanted to make an effort for different elements to tie together – in this case – it was circles. My steering wheel had a heavily circular center piece – and the cupholder also introduced circles. For these reasons, I wanted to incorporate a shift knob which was circular – rather than anatomical in shape. I also thought it would give interior an older character. In general – I also wanted my interior to have a sort of understated, much-restrained, de-cluttered feel.

In a dream-world, I’d have one of these knobs in NOS condition – with a roundel emblem in place of the shift pattern. I haven’t been able to source a roundel shift emblem (also N/A).

Leather: I like the feel of leather – but hate to see how fast it wears with age. I actually opted to keep my vinyl brake handle in light of going with the vinyl knob.

Momo: I really wanted to run a sort of wheel/mats/pedal/knob combo – but – for the love of God, all Momo knobs on today’s market look pretty fucking ghey in an e30 interior. It’s a fact.. and I’m done with set-screw knobs forever.

M Technic: As much I as love an M car – or a rare, factory M Technic-body-kitted e30 – there’s something about M Technic wheels, knobs, and door sills that just kinda bug me. Unless it’s a full-on, actual, dealer-floor, M Technic car – I don’t see the point of adding a knob here – or door sills there – with those goofy purple/pink colors in them. My car will not ‘pretend’ it’s something else.

^^^ very deep shit mayne. ^^^
my thoughts are the same on the M stoof.
the stuff that's not badged doesn't bug me really, but the stuff that's badged or labeled as M/// is just pointless unless it truly is an M car or has been completely built up as one, with all the aesthetics and mechanisms too..
but about your door knob, i have seen a wooden one on ebay with a bmw roundel in it for somewhere near or less than 50$ i believe, i like the whole shape theme behind your interior, a lot more thought processed than most would think!

My first knob was nonexistent. Than i got a threaded knob from some old supra until i found my oem vinyl knob, what was the best so far. I jad an oem //m knob from an m5 that illuminated but it was pretty beat up and i didnt like it anymore.
