Reupholstering Leather, Cardinal Red again or...

    Hey guys,

So I'm in the process of saving up money from each paycheck to finally have my interior completely reupholstered with LEATHER. I'm not skimping and going with vinyl here, I want the quality. Truth be told this will probably be the second most expensive thing done to the car (just behind new paint).

My question is whether you guys think I should go back with cardinal red for my interior or if I should change it up and do something unique. If I was to try something different I was thinking of a Cognac color. I want something rich and luxurious.

Thoughts? What would you guys do?

Some of the modern vinyl/imitation leathers look and feel REALLY nice.

Cognac would look cool. There's an Ox-blood red BMW color that's awesome too.

I say go cardinal! The seats in my E28 were re-done in cardinal and they look absolutely amazing.

I heart the cardinal. Other non-OE colors usually need to be on a completely done up car.

If your carpet and door cards are already cardinal it only makes since to stay cardinal. Plus it's a sweet color anyway.

I was thinking the same thing for my cardinal interior, but it seems as though the consensus is to stay cardinal so that it will be.

Cardinal is a great color, but it has that "old" look. I would highly suggest Tannin red leather from the e46. It is very similar to cardinal, but it has more of a vivid hue to it. I would compare cardinal to a standard definition tv, Tannin to HD, and Imola red to HD with the brightness turned up to 100%. Another good choice would be the Coral red boston leather BMW offers on the newer bmws
