The stock e30 seats did'nt have enough head room so I chopped the bracket down an 1 5/8". The slide is gone but it is my car FTW.

Apologies for bumping an older thread, but I was wondering if you have to cut the seat belt rail down on your 2dr E30s to get the E46 seats to fit? I read that E36 seats have a wide base so you need the seat belt rail shortened.

I've been considering E36/E46 seats since E30 seats in good condition are so hard to come by.

Yeah sorry to bump an old thread but can you show me how you splice the movement into the car?

i dont have this car anymore, but what i did was run power from the cigarette lighter to the seat. On the bottom side of the seat there is a large connector for the wiring harness, but its sort of split into two sections. the smaller is the main ground and power, this is all that needs to be connected for power to the seats. the other section is for the heating element, but i never hooked that up.
