    Switching convertible top lids???

I switched interiors in my two convertibles and the only pieces left are the the top lids where the top is stored. One car is blue and has a grey lid and one is black with a black lid. I was wondering what is the best way to switch these without messing them up? Any tips, tricks or parts I'll need? Thanks in advance for any and all help.

It is a really easy swap. I have done it a couple of times. Or another option is to just pull the vinyl off of the lid you want to keep. The lids are finished in body color under the vinyl and once you clean the glue off it looks killer!

Ok, I think you are trying to swap the vinyl right? If so the vinyl is held on by several rivets, two phillipshead screws on each side, and glue. Once you get those off you can take off the chrome trim and pull up on the vinyl to release it. the rivets are the most annoying part of the removal. they look like these things . Anyways.. once the vinyl is off there will be a layer of glue on the cover... if you clean that off you will see body colored paint. I think thats what they are referring to above... but if you want to swap them, installation is the opposite of removal.

my problem isnt the lid, it does have one or two small bubbles under the vinyl....I just need to figure out how water is getting under it inside the boot when my top is up. It pools up in the little corners where it goes deeper into the side of the car, kinda in the quarter panels

I just changed the lid shocks and what a difference. The lid opens itself now, once I unlock it.

So for sure, there is paint under the vinyl on the lid?

Might have to try this lol
