Well, I decided to go with Porsche tan and black for my e30 cabrio. Now that I got that installed I need to match it. Originally my interior was pearl beige. Well very well weathered and dirty pearl. So I scrapped that and went with this.. I finally got a close match on the vinyl paint and this is what I ended up with.

process is taking a bit longer then anticipated due to other work on the car. Once I have the passenger side panel together I'll post again. that is why I included to first pic to show the before and after. :-) I have a black carpet and decided to not go that route since it would have been just way to much work with the HVAC removal etc. I dyed the pearl carpet with desert tan duplicolor. I have wood trim going in as well along with my woodline bmw sport wheel. stay tuned.
as for the dye. I believe it's called Sure coat. it is for plastic and vinyl only. You can also get it for leather too. the "prep" is key and having an air gun would be advantageous. I used a gravity feed gun with a vert spray pattern and about 20psi.sigpic

it has a couple of cuts. One at the hump behind the rear console before I removed it - was there. it could use a cleaning but it's a good carpet otherwise I wouldn't have pulled it.sigpic
