    Fixing a sport seat

That is the question and here are the details.
A while ago i went on a short vacation and left my car at my parents place with the strict instructions that it was not to be touched. Why o why did i tempt the fates with such words.
I came back and found that my drivers sport seat broken. It´s lopsided and i can lift the back rest right off of the bottom. It will literally slide right off. As well the seat lever that lets you fold the seat for rear entry does nothing...limp as my biscuit.
I haven´t taken the back off to see what is wrong, but is it possible to fix these seats at all?

there's a screw in the bottom to hold it in place. check the steel cable for the latch, it might have been disconnected when they forced it.

Ok, the back rest is held in with 2 Phillips bolts. They thread in to the uprights on the base/ratchet assembly. Very often those threaded L brackets brake off( it's an obvious weak point) all you need to do is remove the back rest and re-weld that bracket.
On to the rear seat access.
That handle has a cable running straight down to the ratchet assy, as well as a cable running across to the other side of the seat and down to the ratchet assy. If it is moving freely it could be either the seat fold lock is not engaging, or the cable is broken. But 2 Phillips screws are between you and the answers you seek.
