how do i get my rear view mirror to stop shaking?

i just use my side mirrors to tell if that blur behind me (in the rear view mirror) in the distance is a cop or not.

in all seriousness though, is it a regualr mirror or a maplight mirror? the map light has a piece that goes from the arm to the glass itself. if it is missing, it has been known to shake or vibrate.

It's a map light. Motor and trans mounts are stock

You need to adjust that little bump stop on the mirror as der affe said.

Ive got a map light in my 318is and with the adjuster all the way out it is only just hitting the windshield, so mine still vibrates a little. I'm just gonna put a little stick on stopper type thing to give me that extra few mm I need to make it solid.

My regular mirror shakes like a mofo(granted my overhead panel with the rubber bit is out at the moment). Any way to tighten it up?
