HELP on installing leather shift boot

i recently just changed my transmission from auto to man and want to put a new boot on but i would to know if i need a console trim and if any has one. Also if i don't need one the could someone please in lighten me on how to install it!!

It depends. Some shift boots come with a plastic trim some don't. If it doesn't come with one you'll need one to attatch it to the center console
