I'm bumping this because I want to see some pictures. I'm seriously thinking of picking up some LS-C's from JJ Custom Interior.Leave a comment:

I have Alpina Recaro LS-C's in my e30, AFAIK they use original Recaro seat bases specifically for e30s. Have some photos, let me look around for them...Leave a comment:

For those who are inexperienced, I will just say there are many ways to get universal seats mounted. Depending on what fits on the seat. You will need a bracket and slider assembly and each piece has to be compatible with each other seat-slider-bracket-car. The other way, is to have an adapter made to work with the stock E30 slider/bracket (1 unit).Leave a comment:

^ can you tell me a bit about the adapter brackets. Went to your site but couldn't get info on the brackets. How much are they and how do they compare to others such as Massive's and so on?Leave a comment:

we have about 30 sets of ls's and 7 or 8 sets of lx's ready to be recovered if you decide to do so. Also have the adapter brackets. :) - www.jjcustominterior.comLeave a comment:

The round knobs clear without issue, and the ones I have are in my vert, which leaves veeeeery little space for the knobs, but I can easily turn them while I'm sitting in the seat. The only clearance issue you run into is sliding the seat forward all the way. The bolsters run up against the console causing the seat to not slide all the way up. You won't have to worry about that being 6'1". I'm 6'3" and never worry about it.Sorry for the delay, been entertaining out of town guests for the holidays.
The pics are great, thank you all. I'm really after the OEM look and see a few examples.
Questions - how the inside seat back adjustment (are these the round knobs on either side?) clears the console - but, clearly, in the pics it looks like it does.
Other concerns height. Using any mounting/adapter bracket on the Recaros to mate with the OEM sliders, it looks like you LOOSE THE OEM height adjustment functionality? I haven't disassembled the seats far enough to understand where this works - in the OEM seat or the sliders. I'm concerned about the height of the installed LS - loosing the adjustability - cuz I'm 6'1" and like to sit upright, not cruiser laid back. Any tall dudes out there?
Thanks all!
The height adjustability is a moot point though. The Recaro's will sit at the same high as the lowest setting on the OEM sport seats. The seats are almost the exact same height as an OEM seat. At 6'1", you shouldn't need to adjust the height of the Recaro's (and you can't... the height adjustment is built into the OEM seat, not the slider.
Surprisingly, the brackets (Massive Lee's) sit at a perfect angle for me to be comfortable. The seat tilts back enough for the adjustable front bolster to actually support my legs, and it keeps me sitting low enough that I don't stick up out of the car too much, which would make me look silly, especially in a vert. The headrests sit a slight bit lower than the top of the OEM headrests, so overall OEM look-ability is not a concern.
Long story short; Dude, they're fucking Recaro's. Install them and be happy. They will fit for you, and you'll be more than happy with them.:up:Leave a comment:
