    Electric Vaders into e30

    quick question.

Will electric Vaders fit in an e30? I've seen plenty of e30's with vaders but I have heard that electric ones are a no go. Anyone know?

If you made a bracket for them to sit high enough to clear the floor vents and don't rub the tranny tunnel in the middle, I'm sure that you could fit them.

A guy on BFC installed E36 lux seats that were power in his E30 so I'd bet you could get the power vaders in there too

Plan is to mount the seat with the one standard rail (the one closest to the tranny tunnel) and weld an e30 rail to the side of the other rail.

Only other thing is getting power to them. I was just thinking of running a power wire to them with a relay in line.

ooh, welding is a bit dodgy with engineers, some of them really dont like it and will give you grief over it when you want to register the vehicle. You cant remove the existing rail then make up a bracket from steel plate to use the E30 rail instead? all the bracket has to do is on one side it fits the size of the seat, then the other bolts onto the stock E30 rail (using the same bolts and spacing if possible).

make it easier for the mod plate (i assume they have a similar system down there) than cutting and welding thats all.

I assume they were just sitting in there for mock-up? Either that or they were all the way back. When we put the manual vaders in it was tight, and we didnt get them to sit perfectly straight. You've got to lose or modify the seat belt rail too.

Cant remove the e36 rails because of the power sliders Unless it is possible to move the whole slider assembly in a bit.

Yeh just a mock up the seller di for me in is e30 project car. Looking at my car yesterday I relized the seat belt rail issue. What did you do with it?

The automatic car isnt his. The seat belt issue: You can either modify the rail by shortening it and bending it. Or what we ended up doing was getting a large 3 inch U bolt. Placing it as close to the seat as possible so the belt would be close, and drilled two holes and put it in.

Wow, cloth vaders look horrible. Maybe it's just that seat.
