What brand? Momo, Sparco, Nardi? If it's an aftermarket, all you need is the correct hub adapter for an E30 BMW.

Step 1: Carefully pry off current horn button or roundel..
Step 2: Drink a cold beer....
Step 3: Loosen nut holding wheel tight on stub shaft...
Step 4: Drink a cold beer....
Step 5: Leave said nut on threads of shaft for a few turns protecting the threads of the shaft....
Step 6: Drink a cold beer....
Step 7: Whack nut with hammer, blow is deflected to wheel because nut not on shaft far enough, nut goes flying...
Step 8: Drink a cold beer....
Step 9: After 30 minutes of searching for said nut, re-thread onto shaft making sure it is threaded on far enough this time....
Step 10: Whack self in forehead trying to hit nut on shaft trying to loosen steering wheel...
Step 11: Bandage forehead, drink a cold beer...
Step 12: Lean over while whacking repeatedly on nut to loosen wheel...
Step 13: Drink a cold beer....
Step 14: Spill unfinished cold beer on interior that was on center console whilst removing steering wheel....
Step 15: Cleanup cold beer spillage, attempt to install optional wheel....
Step 16: Curse out loud if optional wheel doesn't fit right...
Step 17: Drink a couple more cold beers while thinking about having to re-install factory wheel if optional wheel doesn't work...
Step 18: Take optional wheel inside and hang on the wall after finishing re-installation of factory wheel...
Step 19: Finish off cold beer while nursing head injury from earlier....
