    Dead Pedal

I stripped my interior including the carpet. There is a big block of foam under the carpet that makes up the dead pedal. Since I removed it I need a new metal dead pedal. Does anyone know where I can get one that bolts in? Or do I have to have someone fab one up?

I've read about the M-Tech dead pedal that goes for $200-$300 on ebay. I think that's freakin ridiculous.

I'm looking of the same thing, I thought of maybe just fabricating one.

Alpina makes a bolt in one - hard to find though.

My "dead pedal" is the same way. As far as I know you will have to fab something up. Is most e30's the shell just comes out right there to form the backing for the pedal. Sucks becuase you can't really install an after market dead pedal correctly becuase there is nothing to really screw it into and it isn't flat.

I'm considering removing the block of stryofoam, and replacing with a chunk of wood or plastic, and anchoring it down somehow. I step on the dead pedal hard when I'm adjusting myself in my seat and other times, and it gives a lot, even with the dead pedal I have on there, one of the ebay ones. I just have it screwed into the styrofoam block, and it does pretty well.

I guess I'm going to have to Fab one up. I have a good friend with a TIG welder. I'm thinking that diamond plate will be good. I'll post some pics once I have it made and installed.
