Just out of curiousity.. Do the non reclining buckets give any of you guys any issues during long drives? Reguardless, i only commute 30-45 minutes each way 4 days a week but I was wondering how they were on 1-2 hour trips for you guys -

Im 6 3 and I fit fine but could use more leg room.
No problem at all with head room just the opposite wish the seats were higher upLeave a comment:

I'm 6'3" 270# also, no issues fitting in the car with a helmet on. I think most of my height is legs though.Leave a comment:

if you swap the bottom of your seats to a bottom seat frame and rails from a 1984-1985 set, you will gain about .5-1 inch head room. the rails on early early models were lower profiled for some reason.Leave a comment:

They are manual with electronic lumbar adjustment and heated seats. My plan is to find a wiring diagram and the electronics for the e30 heated seats and try to wire them up.Leave a comment:

Aand they are fully manual or did you somehow rig up the electricsLeave a comment:

Sorry I forgot to mention that important part.
These are out of a mkv GLI. You can get a set for around $500 or so.Leave a comment:

what are those out of? A vw by any chance? I know glx was the luxery vr6 model on mk3s, and they do not look like mk4 seats to me..Leave a comment:

I'm 6' and these are all the way forward. Leg room is no longer an issue. Fully adjustable along with height. Had drill 3 points to bolt to the floor and used the factory inner front stud.
These are also height adjustable, plenty of head roomLast edited by Exodus_2pt0; 02-28-2012, 08:35 AM.Leave a comment:

Yea, if I could get my head like that it would really help out.In the meantime, go for Speedware brackets and an aftermarket seat like a Recaro Speed / SRD to add headroom.

They gave me lots of headroom to spare even with a helmet on (6'1"). Of course, that's nearly a grand for just the driver's side, although worth it IMO.

If my head is that low at 6'1", 6'4" should fit well.
Im gonna look at seats just to see, I figure they are going to be more then I am willing to spend though.
Can anybody back up the m3 vaders?
EDIT:
If anyone is looking for aftermarket seats, I found a link devoted to racing seats in e30s
