One of the few things on our cars I dislike aswell, windows were always a problem on my henna, got some _new_ used motors a no go, tried some stuff with the regulators still weren't perfect. Switches being dirty, bad contact.

Is this on the ETA or the LMR?

Why post here? Gosh, do you hate some people that much?
P.S. - I woulda really bought that knob, like I said I'm sorry, but Jeremy was local... respond to me before you get banned plz.

      eta.

i always posted quick easy technical questions in Stone Cutters because fuck the rest of the board. no need to ask them because the people in this small group know well enough.

THis reply is of no help but early model power windows can suck it

For some reason BMW got smart and redid them on the 88+ cars, so much nicer

In short Heeter break the glass on the ETA, no one will steal it.
Or switch the glass+regulators+allthatjazz from a LM?

Hah, wtf is Stone Cutters? A word censor for the OG hideout?

Well first off do you get power to the motor itself? Eliminate electrical before you start ordering shit.

And yes Pre 88 window regulators are horrible.. Mine are original and they are pretty damn slow... Gotta retrofit the later model ones in at some point.

I've retrofitted the later model ones into my car. It takes a little work.

              You need:

              - The tracks and window gaskets
              - Window Motor
              - Window

All from a donor car with the new window regulator. Then you need to also drill a hole to mount the (if looking at the inside of the door) the ourside bottom mounting hole for the window track. (look at the donor car to see what I mean.

It's a little work, but it pays off! Also, my newer window regulator just broke recently, one of the little while plastic wheels broke off.

I have a friend that lives in Sturgis with LOTS of parts still remaining on his 1991 325i, including all the window regulator pieces EXCEPT the passenger side window motor, which I grabbed.

Let me know if you guys want me to hook you up. :)
