    What Goes Here?

Not too sure what goes in the vacant spot you see in the picture. All of the other cars I see have a molded piece there that can hold change or other small objects. Can anyone let me know what is supposed to go there so that I can put it back. Thanks!

It comes emtpy like that as a storage area for small items.
Its perfect size for some cell phones.

There is an optional pop-up cassete holder that can mount in that area but it requires cutting out the bottom.

It is hard to tell by the picture but the cutout goes to the carpet. If you were to put something in the slot it would slide under the console. My other e30 and all others I have seen are different....the only reason I ask. Thanks.

Maybe your rear console has been cut to accomodate the cassette holder which is no longer there? A bigger pic might be helpful.

Ok if thats the case then it's cut out for the optional cassette holder/dispenser.
                No need for bigger pics.

To cure it just replace the e-brake console with one from your local boneyard.
Even if they overcharge you it wouldn't be more than $20.

Or you can full r3v style and ghetto-rig it by putting a piece of carpet or rubber on the bottom.

Thanks...I will probably just replace it with the "normal" one. I just didnt want to throw in a replacement if something "cool" was supposed to go there.
