    Upgrading to heated seats

So i bought a parts car for the heated seats; has anyone done this swap before?
How tough is it? Im apprehensive about taking my sport seats apart as last time i tried that...it didn't go well so I know I have a challenge in front of me, how bad is swapping the wiring?
hopin someone can let me know what im in for before I start ripping into it tomorrow

my s14 came with factory heated seats. Lmk if you need any data like part number, etc. I'll try my best to answer if I could.

I'd say it's more trouble than it's worth. And seat warmers are absolutely terrible for your leather. You can tell instantly when someone has used them daily.

It tends to just make the leather look more worn than it is. Especially on newer cars, like e46s and up, you can see that the leather just looks shiny and shitty from being heated up like that every day. Yes it gets hot just being in the car, but it's much worse with seat warmers.

                See this:
Read a lot about this polish lately, so I looked into it at the local Napa store. After a bit of searching, they found an item number for it, but would have to get it from another warehouse. Cost was $58.00 plus tax for a quart. Thats a bit expensive compared to menzerna and optimum polishes. Is...

I agree with you on that one. They're an awesome feature to have and not use. But I have no clue as to how wiring them in would be.

Wasn't there a thread a few years ago about some guys heated seat wiring lighting his interior on fire? Sorry I'm in my phone and the search function doesn't work.

That's what the BMW fire extinguisher is for...

                              1. Install heated seats
                              2. Buy BMW e30 Fire Extinguisher
                              3. Enjoy Swagg
                              4. ??????
                              5. Profit

On a serious note; I'd want seat warmers, but I live in Cali, so I would rarely use them and just have them for the swag as the heater is hot enough. I would probably use them like once a month... When I have to drive in the morning... At 5AM... And my car is cold... Other than that, they'd get close to 0 use..

I heard Vinyl is much less prone to heater fade because it's synthetic..?
