    DIY: Lighted Visors

Been researching for a while on how to change the plain old visors e30's have. Finally found a nice decent mod, thought I share. Here's a quick writeup. First writeup, so bare with me

    Sorry for the crappy pics/vid

    Things you'll need:
    Dremel/Utility Knife
    Ruler/Lever
E32 visors with harness and light.

You can either take out the headliner cover or do it in the car.

First measure the size of the light and make sure its centered. Make sure you dont make the hole too big or the light will be loose and fall off.

Install light on the hole you just cut.

Install headliner cover (only If you took it out of the car, I decided to do it while on the car. Connect the harness to the visors and lights. I got power from the factory dome lights.

Looks pretty decent. Visors don't close all the way, as seen in one of the pics, but it's not by much.
Light lights up when you open the lid, and turns off when you close the lid.

Mods, feel free to sticky

How does the light turn off when the visors are closed? Is there a hidden switch mechanism?

Since they're the matching visors I asume they shut off when closed.

You either close the lid or just leave it like that. There's a metal clip on the visors and visor tabs that when you close the visor. The metal clip doesn't make contact making the light not turn on

Opps, totally skimmed right over the important details. I just realized that you installed the matching visors also and not just the lights. Im definitely going to have to do this. Thanks again for the write up.
