Seat height difference of MK2 Recaros - is it a big deal?

    Hey all,

I recently picked up a set of minty MK2 Recaros from a GLI to swap into my car. Likely going w. the adapters from one of the familiar vendors on R3V offering the brackets, but here's my question: is the lower height going to be a problem?

I'm about 5'10" and fit really well into the stock sport seats. I use the car for autocross and am concerned that the difference in how much lower the MK2 seats sit will be noticeable enough to feel like I'm sitting too low.

Now, I could be making a mountain out of a molehill, but I just wanted to be sure. Thanks!

    Jeff

I have some LS-B's and Janderson adapters (they are actually his old seats) and they are perfect height and angle for me and I'm your height. Very comfy.

Did you get these installed yet? If so, how much lower were these than your stock sport seats? Thanks

I tell oyu this, I'm 180cm and very sencitive when it come to seating hight. Whn I installed new BMW seat to my E30, it was apperently too low to my liking and I had to be creative about having it raised.

In you case, if it is too low for you, you can always raise it up a little by placing washers under between the seat and the rail and/or between the floor and the rail. It might be difficult if you're looking to add an extra inch or so in hight.

Really just looking to see how much lower the Mk2 Recaros are than the BMW sport seats. I really need to sit about an inch lower, as I've only got about a half inch of room between my helmet and the roof.
