    Sport seat repair?

    Hey everyone who reads this,

I´ve got a pair of sport seats that the previous owner decided it might be a great idea to cut the interior cables so he could use them in his 4 door.
I have no idea why, the would have worked just fine with the tilting mechanism intact.

I would like to know if it is possible to fix them, what is involved, difficulty, etc.

ok, waiting on a pic of that..LOL!!!

seriously, I've taken these seats about dozens of times. the easiest way to replace the seat cables is to take the upper seat cushion out and that requires cutting the hog rings holding it in place against the frame. this gives you the ability to unhook the cable from the handle mech. Then you have to remove the two little plastic plugs at the bottom of the seat on the corners and then slide the cable out and reverse installation.

assuming you got the cables back on; the and of the cables towards the lower seat adjusters has two eyelets and a plastic square housing. this housing clips into place on the adjuster and then you slip the eyelet over the post and bend the small tab down to prevent from unhooking.

if you don't go about it this way it is a bit of a pain to do but possible.
the top of the cable where it fits into the top mech as a couple bends on it. one bend is to hook into the mech. and the other I think is done so purposely, to adjust the tension. once you install it. you will need to test the tension on the seat to make sure it allows the tilt to happen. if it catches and doesn't. just bend the cable at the top to shorten to desired working condition.

may take a couple hours AT MOST!

      hope this helps.
