    Ahh thanks a lot guys.

And Gadget, I will have to pass. I will most likely keep my eye out for some cheaper ones. These would definitely be a luxury item for me, and may not happen.

    We will see.

    Thank you

The correct recaro's have power bases that can be unbolted and use universal recaro mounts or your own fab'd up. Those pictured in the original post have the center sliders welded directly to the seat bases and will be a lot of work to convert to mount in an e30. The time and cost to swap out the base of that seat would make it cheaper to find the correct ones.

I had 8 sets of the ones that are used in e30's and sold them to varying e30 folks.

I have one set still left that I'm selling if you're interested in the correct ones and I'm in Elk Grove Sac area.

The recaros you originally posted wont work in e30.

According to r3v, rears can be used in the coupe (not sure about sedan). Check big thread in this section for the MKII Recaro instalation.

Just looked at the posted pictures again: It looks like these are wrong Recaros and would require involving modification to the seat base to be installed into e30 since the base is a part of the botom coution and can't be removed. The Recaros you need would have power operated base that can be unbolted.

...I had hard times sourcing Recaros at a good price, so I ended up installing MZ3 roadster seat...

the give away for the wrong recaros are:
    1) smaller headrest
    2) Non-power base
    3) Sligtly flat (not as poity) bottom coution bolsters
    4) Slightly round back supprt bolsters

    WRONG RECAROS:

    CORRECT RECAROS:

I may have to pick these up then.

for the front/rear and door cards for the price of $350 it seems worth it.

    thanks

Sold the front and rears for $380.

I paid $300 for a pair of fronts Mk2 seats that I am using for my e30 build.

As I said, the rears are useless for our cars and you might be able too resell them and get a few $$$ back.

I sold my set for $380.00 to a friend who is 6'2" 230lbs and he loves how well they fit.

Your lower bolsters are shot as they are flattened out vs. being upright. Replacement foam bolsters are still available for about $70/pair.

If your seat fabric is mint then a steam clean will get you immediate usage. To recover a pair for seats in black synthetic leather is $800.00 and you can add your options from there.

The rear seats are useless and if you plan to keep the fabric look then the skins can be used for repairs in the future.

That is what I assume, but you never know.

How bad do you guys think the foam is?

started a topic mkII recaro seats refresh?

    mkII recaro seats refresh?

I am 6'2" and the e30 sport seats suck for me. The comfort seats feel great, but they look horrible. I was told that the mkII seats are great for big guys like me, and after a quick search on cl I found some.

My question is do you think these seats will clean up, and how bad does the condition look to you guys?
How much would you guys pay for them in the condition they are? (The owner will not split up and it comes with door panels, front and rear seats)

    Thanks
