Would an e36 leather shift knob fit in an e30? If so how much do the mtech ones run for..... and where do you suggest i get one?

the illuminated mtech ones run from $60-90. Subtract $30 or so for non-illuminated.

Just to let you know, all shift knobs from the E21 up will fit eachother (hope that makes sense).

Handbrake handles are not quite the same, however.

Ive got the 96+ M3 knob that is lighted. Its a little ricey but its soo small you barely notice. Plus it was free.
            Im now E30less.
