Help me get this wheel off!!!

    Hello all!!

I just bought my car this year so I am new to E30's.

Anyways my car has a formuling france BMW steering wheel on it and I wanted to take it off to try an extra wheel I have and recondition this wheel, but for the life of me it will not come off. I have tried everything. The key DOES NOT lock the wheel although I tried to remove it with the key in just like everyone says you have to. I have removed plenty of steering wheels in my time but what the hell??!?!? :hitler::hitler::hitler::hitler::hitler::hitler:

After spending 2 hours at it I gave up. any help would be greatly appreciated.

here is a reference image of what the wheel looks like

Well im assuming those 8 hex screws on the face bolt the wheel to the hub adapter and then the big nut underneath the horn pad holds the hub adapter to the hub. Take a closer picture of the hex screws most of the ones I have dealt with before just use an allen key.

this. once you take the hex screws out there is a 16mm bolt that holds the hub to the shaft. you will need either a deep 16mm or a 16mm with a 3-4" extension.

Yes, I did but hub wont move. not even slightly on the steering shaft splines.

Taking the allen keys out is not a problem. Its removing the hub from the shaft is where I am having issues.

My next attempt I think I am going to use a gear puller. I will let you guys know what happens.
