So the 318i I just bought had a pretty dicky drivers seat. It won't stay upright and just lays back all the time. So today after reading a few other posts about swapping the drivers and passengers seat, I decided to give it a go.
After taking both seats out I planned on vacuuming out under the rails as it was pretty filthy

Then I decided while I was at it I would remove all the centre console parts and give them a good clean up. Removing it all was a fairly simple process and didn't take long to get it all off, giving me more shit to vacuum up!

I gave the console parts a good cleanup with some spray cleaner and then wiped them down with some armour all wipes, and they came up looking pretty good

After all that was done I put all the console back together and started to put the seats in. I was about to bolt down the passenger seat in the drivers seat spot and realised the seatbelt clip was on the wrong side, so just a simple swap and they were in, everything worked fine :)

I'd be interested to know if anyone else has had the same problem with the seat giving out and whether there is a simple solution
