    Re-wraped e30 mtechII wheel - Coby Wheel

    Hi all,

I recently purchased a mtech II wheel that had worn out leather in a few spots, so I did some research on getting it redone. A local friend of mine mentioned Coby Wheels down in the states to me, as he had his e46 m3 wheel done there in alcantara and it looked awesome.

Their website just shows newer wheels, but I figured I would contact them to see what they would be willing to do. I spoke to Mike there, who was excellent to deal with. He told me that they haven't done one before, but that I could be the guinea pig so to speak. Anyways, he just sent me pics of the wheel 98% done, and it looks like a great job. What this means is that he now has the pattern down for the mtech II wheel and should be able to do it for others. I will let you all know once I get the wheel in person and have a look.

I'm very pleased with the result from the pics. He was finishing up the back yesterday and it ships out today!

The edges of the fabric look a little off on the back but, it looks like a really nice stitching job.

He finished up those edges after taking the pictures, so that should all be good now.

As for the cost, I don't know if I should really say, as I don't know if I got a discount for being a guinea pig or not, and wouldn't want to put him in a awkward position. I will say that they have very good prices for the work they do. I think I recently saw on their website that they would do a rewrap and boots for $225. I will say that I think their prices are very good, and the end result looks to be high quality.

Here is their website with other pics:

Don't want a stinking Alacantra wheel, wears to fast on this type of surface with oil from skin. Rather have a nice leather surface.

            Your looks great.

Looks sexy. Just as a reference, I got my airbag wheel done a few years ago in leather with red/blue stitch at a local guy for 270$.

Btw. Don't ask why I had an airbag wheel reupholstered.

Coby does nice work .. and not just wheels. After having him do some work for my ZHP I had him make a shift boot for my E30 ... Nice!
