M3 Sport seat into sedan issues

So I just picked up a mint set of M3 leather sport seats today, and went to put them in my car. Everything I've read says they should fit. Well as my light was fading, I couldn't seem to get the bracket to line up right. It could have been I couldn't see right but it just seemed off. Something else I noticed is when I pulled on the seat slider lever, the seat seemed to sit too low to disengage the locks so I couldn't move the seat back and forth to access the bolt/bolt holes. Is this a bracket problem, or me just fumbling around in the dark?

There shouldn't be a difference all e30s use the same sliders and brackets

What I thought. Maybe it was just a long day for me and I need to get on it tomorrow

Maybe try to flip the seat over and make sure the sliders are even with each other. Sometimes I've noticed when I remove a seat, one slider moves and the other doesn't. Probably from wrestling it out of the car and then back in which then makes the bracket holes not line up properly. Just a thought!

Sport seats have height adjustment. Raise it up all the way to get access to the bolts. Makes thing much easier.

The sliders are different for coupes and 4 doors. Take the sliders off of your 4 door seats and put them on the m3 seats.

So new question. How or where would i attach the seatbelts in my car to these seats? I've looked and I cant find a definitive answer.

No, they don't. I have had two different sets of coupe sport seats in my touring, both dropped right in. You can not, however, use comfort seat rails on sport seats or vice versa. They mount to the seat differently, but to the floor in the same way.

The advice of Nitro and RCM3 is what you need to know to mount the seats.

There's a small plastic circular cover below the levers on the side. There should be a 17mm bolt there I believe.

I saw that, didn't know exactly what it was holding onto. So I'm good to run it out and sandwich my seatbelt bracket in there? If so thats a lot easier than I thought it was going to be

If u have an 84 or 85 model. the entire seat bottom is differ. To fix, u will need to swap the entire bottom upholstery

They use the same part numbers and I've been told are interchangeable. I'll report back once I attempt to put the sliders from my comfort seats onto sport seats.

definitely different from what i have now on my car..had the same issue, holes didnt line up, i have a frame from a 325 early model i have a 318is the sliders are totally different...how i installed them was put the two bolts in the front first and then raised the seat and pulled it forward and pulled the sliders inward to align them with the hole..and bam it worked...just play around with it should fit
