dashboard question.

so, im looking at dashboard recovering options. do not know what type of material the e30 dash is, ( polyvinyl carbonate PVC, or vinyl idk ) from reading a thread on mye28 a guy there was able to remove the material and recover. in vinyl which i find appealing as its personal & im learing how to use my Toyota sewing machine.

anyone know if the dashboard material would just strip from its padding. is it that easy? here is a photo if the e28 dash before & after stripping.

Bump. Anybody have any experience with this? I've got three dashboards that are perfect candidates for repair.

I think you could peel it off, the trick would be to remove it carefully and maybe heat it up so you don't take any foam with you.

Use a Heat gun, it will peel Like a banana.
