are these real sparcos?

I keep finding deals like this on ebay for a set (2) of Sparco or Recaro buckets for mad cheap. Very tempting. But I'm wondering if anybody can determine if they are real or not because 400 for 2 of these seems ridiculous since they go for like 7 hundo a pop

It says right at the bottom of the description "These sparco seats are overseas grey market products." So no, they aren't real.

While I can't guarantee their stability or how safe they are, I can say that a few of my friends have them on thier car and they seem to be fine. I ride/drive their cars and it can hold me up pretty good. Im a fairly big guy as well. We've drifted and hard driven on them.

So a friend of mine bought a knock off Bride for a car. He got in a minor fender bender and the seat broke in half. IE the back separated from the base.

well thats what im saying. I cant back them up 100%. i guess its like a hit or miss on these things. The bad part about it is that you'll never knew who made them. Unlike wheels, there are ESMs or Linea Corses that you can trust more than Kyowa or other Craigslist specials.

just from that i will not be buying knock off seats ever. seems way too risky

Can someone explain to me how the strength of a seat has anything to do with protecting you in an accident? Because I can't think of any reason where a seat would do anything.

In a race car with a fixed back seat and a cage/harness, yes, but in a street car with folding seats and regular belts, I just don't see it.

So let say you get re-ended. You get thrown forward the belt catches you. The energy dosnt go away completely so you get slammed back into the seat. So lets say the back rest break off and in stead of getting minor whip lash you no have a spinal injury cause you slammed your body against the floor.
