Looking for pictures / experience with corrado seats in e30

I'm fat. e30 sport seats are uncomfortable. e30 comfort seat I have is broken. <insert fat joke here>

I've been looking for period correct - ish seats and have found several corrado seats for sale over the past couple months that look wide enough for my ass.

From what I can tell, they're the same as any other recaro LS that came in vw's but I don't know that for sure.

a2coupe never seems to respond to my email/messages - and there must be some other recaro savant on here.

Anderson told me once that at least with trophys, to make sure to get the manual seats as the electric ones deviate from the standard recaro bolt pattern. I'll take that as gospel, but was hoping someone had a pic or experience with corrado seats in their e30.

    Please and thank you.

i feel the corrado seats are actually narrower than the bmw sport seats. the side bottom bolsters are much stiffer on the corrado seats, and pinch more on long trips. the bmw seats on the other hand seem to have much softer bolsters and don't pinch...

and yes - i am a vw as well as bmw guy, and have cars with both.

I have canadian corrado recaro's in my car (I believe they are different from the us spec) and they are great. The came with power backs and power bases, but still have the standard 6-bolt pattern. They are a little bit wider than e30 sport seats, and I find them a lot more comfortable and more supportive in the twisties.

no rush, they look the same as us spec to me, but I'm no expert. Any idea what might be different?

I'm no expert, but I believe the recaro's that came in us-spec corrado's have a back made by recaro, and seat bottom made by volkswagen.

The main concern seems to be that some corrado recaro's with power seat bases do not have the standard 6-bolt recaro pattern. They have the power base welded directly to the seat bottom and thus do not accept the standard recaro-e30 slider adapters.

Not all Canadian Corrado's got recaro seats. It had to be a SLC without leather. They are rare here in Canada.

Get mkII VW Recaro trophy seats. I have read they are wider, and give better support for us big guys.

I am 6'3" and pretty hefty. I hate my sport seats.
