    Installing guage rings?

I bought a set off bay and they say they snap in so I'm wondering does the black surround that the guages are recessed into come off or how do they snap in? Any help is appreciated!

Yes the surround does come off and the guages will come out easy too. not hard at all to do.

Do you know if they snap into surround?

the set on my M3 needed to be superglued in. I think they do make sets that "snap-in" though, but cost quite a bit here in germany.

easiest way is to have the cluster removed, then carefully remove the clear cover. Just use a small flat head and pry it off slowly and carefully.

Then you can see if the rings will snap in, if not, if you can always glue it on.

When you glue the clear cover back on, just be careful not to use a thin superglue, otherwise you will discolor the cover, and possibly get the glue all over the black surface.

I personally think that epoxy is better for both jobs.

just hold up the rings to your cluster and use some clear tape to tape them on. make sure you sit in the seat like you are driving, so it makes it looks like they are lined up.

i know this post doesnt help at all, but i have to be up in like 5 hours so im killing time.

I need to see more pics of cars with these installed to see if its somethign I want to do.

So you have to pry off the clear plastic? Maybe I dont want to install these. How hard is it to pry off?

Just do it. Dont be a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles.
The clear plastic pops right off.

Here's pics of my old cluster from my old car 325i. And it's available for anyone that wants it. I installed the rings and white face gauges that light up blue or green.

Does the non-M cluster come out like the M? I imagine so I found this http://e30m3performance.com/maintena...d/SI_Board.htm is this accurate for taking it out?
