This. If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't. I'd live with the cracks.

Swapping a dash isn't THAT bad.. Buy some beer and dedicate like 3 hours.

It's not that bad. Slot 3 hrs to get the old one out and another 5 to try and get it back in. That's the worst part. But I do have to say, there is nothing like driving and looking at a perfect dash. It really makes you feel like you're not driving a piece of crap.

Im gonna do the coverlay plastic dash cover. Its $119 and takes 10 minutes to do. Last thing I need is to remove the dash and break more stuff behind it.

Did mine this summer using the DIY he linked above. Tedious & ugly, but not all that hard. Well worth it imo... Set aside a good 8 hours to make sure you can clean up everything while you are in there. A not yet intoxicated friend is good help getting new dash in. Have some new foam ready to seal up the blower/vent inlet; you'll feel better about yourself later. I was far too tired to snap an after picture, but this is the mess you find when you dive in.

QFT. Just do it on a day off and get it done with. Using that DIY stated above, I got this done in under 4 hours from door open to door close.

Biggest PITA is the wiring. I labeled everything as I was taking it apart and still missed a few things putting it back together. I also broke a couple of the cable-tie things that hold the wire bundles together so I had to improvise solutions for that. I still haven't driven the car yet, but I bet I introduced a bunch of new squeaks and rattles by doing this.

YMMV, my old dash only had one crack, so I wish I'd have left it alone. If your old dash is really bad, it's probably still worth it.

Pull the front seats out. It's only 4 bolts each and gives you a LOT more room to work.
