Fair price for these Recaro seats?

Assuming they are mint, what would be a fair price?

I am negotiating as the buyer.

Doesn't really look like they were covered by a pro. Skins look pretty loose. I would expect perfection for $1K.

I personally wouldn't give $500 for them. They are not super special recaros as far as I know. LX's I believe

They are pretty expensive at full retail.

LX's are "og" Recaros. I just don't believe they are worth $1k in their condition. The covers could definitely use some refitting to get them tight. LX's came in some 80's mustangs. They are real recaros, I just don't think those are $1000 recaros. But I'm no recaro expert

I have a set of these in blue cloth material that needs recovering, good structurely just material is soft and brittle for wear and age, I got these same style seats from my friend who bought them new about 15-20 years ago and he said he paid a few $1k's when then money was good. Sadly I been trying to sell mine on different bmw forums for $500 or best reasonable offer, which now seems to be $250 to $350 what I seen for most in my condition and all people want to offer me is $50 to $100 and they tell me they are not worth much and are VW seats. Yes, they were used in BMW's and VW's but not worth any less if they were in a VW. So I just keep mine stored till I have a reasonable offer from someone that will love and appreciate the seats, Or if I ever get another car to use them in I will, if not I store them hurts no one then. I know they are not perfect but I willn't give them away either for people trying to trick me on price as I know from old bmw parts books on some of the cost back then. The seats in question here, I believe are less then $1000 maybe closer to $500 to $600 if mint? It is one of those things where it is what people are willing to spend to get what they want? For me personally red is not my color, if solid tan or black maybe $1000 but not those for sure unless you like red and have a red bmw? SHAWN

I have been looking for these seats for some time... I thought they were rare since i couldn't find any!

Would you be interested in shooting me over some photos? That's pretty much what I wanted to find. A good set that needed re-upholstery.
