    E30 glove box broken.

So my e30 glove box is broken. I messed with it for hours and it sounds stupid but I can't figure it out, my friend said its a common problem with e30s? Anyone know how to fix this, the right way? It seems either the latch or the part the latch latches too? Thanks

The common problem is that turning the lock cylinder no longer engages the actual latch, which is an L-shaped flat piece of metal. Search, there are a few suggested methods but none are fun, and involve finding some way to move that L-shaped latch with a long tool from behind. It will be easier if you get a replacement latch first, so you can visualize the problem. I got lucky and was able to pull the whole latch forward out of the glove box just enough to access the latch from the front. But I think some other parts happened to be broken enough to let me do this. GL
