I have thought about those too. I vote you bite the bullet, buy one, and report back on how it works. If it is a good product, I would probably get one.

One guy on a local buy sell trade discussion on facebook put up a warning saying his ebay hub (on a honda I believe) broke when he was driving, causing him to almost crash.

That is all I know about them.

I would just keep saving and get a name brand one. Your steering wheel is moderately important when operating a motorvehicle :p

Let me tell you how much that hub sucks.

The horn wire chafes on the hole they bored and the horn beeps when turning and when you hit a bump.

The threads wallow out from normal driving vibrations, backing out all the screws that hold the wheel on.

And the splines are milled off center so it will never ever be straight.

If you really want one, pay for shipping and ill send you mine for free.

Well that answers that question. Hopefully this thread will save others from wasting their money.

What are some reasonably priced hubs for the E30?

A old honda I had had a hub just like that one from the previous owner, literally felt like it was going to fall apart. The hub I'm using with my grip royal I got off ebay for like 80 bucks and its solid. I feel totally comfortable using it.

I have an OMP one and it's pretty nice, around $75 iirc. There really is no excuse for buying a cheap hub/steering wheel. That's not the kind of thing you want to break driving down the freeway.

You're preaching to the choir man, the only reason I was thinking this may have been a one-off alright ebay purchase is because someone I know claimed it was "high quality"; I was skeptical and it looks like I was right.
