Red interiors?

I have a red e30 with black interior. I was thinking about finding some red sport seats and rear seats and keeping the black door cards, carpets, and mats. Anyone seen this done before? Advice?

I agree. I plan on doing something like this with my white vert but with a red car I think it'd be too much red.

Yeah, ive been trying to find one. Also is that red color cardinal red? some pictures that I see of "cardinal" interiors are more of a burgundy and some are bright red like what you guys have responded with. I personally prefer the brighter one

There are four different reds. Cherry red that is red. Taurus red that is really dark. Cardinal red that is kind of an orange tint to it. And Crimson red that is kind of a really light burgundy.

I think there are some original interior brochures posted on r3v somewhere (I think they may have been posted by JasonC actually) so you could probably compare using those.

It would be hard to compare how they look now (20-30 years later) because there would be a lot of variation.

The colors are in a sticky in this part of the forum. But they are only scans of brochures. With red int, the cherry and taurus will not have matching carpet or rear shelf. With cardinal you will find matching carpet and shelf in 88 or 89 I think? the 87 and part of 88 got gray. Then with crimson (like in post #10), you will get matching carpet and rear shelf.
