Glovebox stuck shut, open without breaking?

Latch seems to be broken, but I can't seem to wiggle, shake or force it open. I feel like I am on verge of breking something. I was able to disconnect the back hinge and reach inside to retrieve something, but latch will not unhook.
Any advice?

Search, there's a more thorough walkthrough. There's an L-shaped piece of metal you need to move. Long screwdriver from behind. I got at mine through the front by luck because the whole latch handle was broken and I could pulpit out just enough. Find pix or get a replacement handle so you can see what I mean.
