Sport seats: using passenger upper for driver's side?

I am currently reupholstering my sport seats. My driver's side upper section is bent so I went ahead and sourced another straight frame. It turns out that frame is from a rare sedan with sports and has no tilt mechanism nor cut outs...

Since good driver's side frames are hard to find, couldn't I just use another straight passenger frame for my driver's side? All I would have to do would be to cut the extra holes in my seat card that covers the rear, right? The only difference would be that I would have tilt controls on either side of the seat.

Is my logic sound here, or am I missing something?

    THANKS!

Yeah, that works. I think you can also cut the lever on the passenger side so it doesn't poke through the seat back (so you won't need to cut the extra hole) - but don't actually remove the whole lever on that side, you need the cable there. Oh and headrests aren't symmetrical so use one from a drivers side seat.
