Which carpet material?

I am restoring/building a 91 325i and I am converting it to black from beige. The old beige carpet was removed and I did not want to simply spray it, but replace it with a genuine grey oem carpet.

There are apparently two types of carpeting material used for the oem carpets, a hook and loop type rough carpet used on the 318i(s) cars and a softer wooly-like material used on the 325i(s) models

I have access to both, a 318 type grey carpet and a 325 type grey carpet. They both have some small holes near the heel of the accelerator and the dead pedal. Very small and easily covered with a floor mat.

Which carpet is more desirable and which one should i go with given i have the choice.

I feel the hook and loop is more durable but I like the look of cut pile better. I also feel cut pile is easier to clean with a vacume.
