    Sunroof liner?

How do I find this part, and install it?
My 89' 325iS the previous owner had torn the sunroofs headliner material out, looks like poo since I can see the inner workings now.

I do know to replace this part Ill have to pull the entire sunroof out, how do I do that?

I had the same issue. I did notice tho I still have the liner frame. If you have that piece then it's just adding fabric, if not head to the junky yard.

There are tons of threads on the removal and a simple search of "sunroof" would have shown it..

I did search, found a good write up on removing and servicing the sunroof, but nothing on replacing the cloth though. That would ideally be what I will do.

        Sunroof liner?

When the sunroof is removed the sunroof headliner frame should come out with it.
Once removed have it facing down and how it would be if it was in the car above you ex. Cloth/fabric side down.
Now the original material is canvas-like and how it is originally is the front of the frame has this rubber stop and the material was tucked in it then around and over to the bottom and when heading to the rear. When heading back it was what I believe folded around those middle rails and either sewed or glued back and until the rear to let it hang down giving it a flat smooth appearance. I noticed that if you only have your fabric from front to back and nothing to hang it, it just makes it flap when the roof it vented and when closed it looks weird.
For the sides they had the flexible arms on top of the material and riveted through the rail but not through the other side of the fabric. The material was wrapped over the rail and was the exact length or shorter of that side rail. This was severally glued of something and I couldn't get mine to stick like they did. The sides slide with the sunroof and if you use to long of a rivet it or to thick of fabric it wedges the sunroof stuck or starts ripping.

When I redid mine it was aggravating and took forever. I would recommend finding good condition one at the junkyard. Good luck.
