How to recondition your leather seats (PICS)

This is my first ever DIY threas so bare with me!
So first things first this is a list of what you will need

Bag balm, you should be able to get it anywhere especially a ranch/farm store. It is used for cows utters. And some old shirt or rag to rub it into the leather.

3 or more hours without siting in your car preferably over night

Shop vac/Vacuum. Vacuum Of the seats really good.

My seats were pretty worn i Believe the PO owned a dog and scratched the seat up pretty bad.

To apply the Bag Balm use a rag, i just used an old shirt. Just dip the rag in the Bag Balm and get a generous amount and rub it into your seat. It works better when the Leather is warm. I did mine on a hot day 80+.
Start on a flat surface of your seat, Not the seam it will build up in the seam and be difficult to get out. Here is the bottom of my seat half done.
I already had done the Back of the seat.

As you can see my seat has some deep scratches, These will be lessened.

Here is the finished product it turned our really nice a lot better then before. The bag balm will continue to moisturize the seat over time. If you use A LOT then after you have let it soak in for awhile you might have to take a clean rag and wipe the excess off. All Done!

how long does this last? I use lexol on my seats almost every time I wash the car and It seems to do a pretty good job.

If you do this, put the seat into a big plastic bag (like a tire bag) and leave it outside in the sun the mini sauna session will work wonders on the oiled up leather. Afterwards when the seat has cooled down, just remove the bag and buff the surface with a clean cloth.

I use Leatherique Rejuvinating oil for my seat restorations and you can see pics of the sauna session here

And the "after" pics are here: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/show...6&postcount=63

It really helps the wrinkles in the leather and like Hammered said it is a good idea to let them sit in the sun helps all of the oils soak in. About how long it lasts, the back of my back seat is still very shiny almost looks new. But the bottom needed another coat as it was pretty bad. I will try to post some pics after they have a little use.
