How to fit Recaro Pole Positions?

    Hey guys,

I got my hands on a pair of used Recaro Pole Positions that I wanna use in the E30.

I haven't found any information on how to fit them though.

They have been in a Mini Cooper before and come with the seat brackets. See pictures:

Do I need some more parts to mount them in the E30?

They'll be here in about a week and I can't wait to get them in! (=

    there are multiple options available.

    A. if those mini sliders happen to fit the e30 (doubtful) you could just bolt them in.

    B. buy new sliders specifically for the e30 that will mount to the recaro sidemounts

    C. buy some sort of fixed mount setup. you could buy VAC floor plate adapters then bolt the sidemounts directly to those. however the VAC adapters are really expensive. Lee at massive brakes also produces a really nice fixed sidemount setup for our cars that is more affordable

Thanks for the quick and informative reply Mitch!

I think option B sounds like a plan (assuming A fails).

Where can I buy E30 specific sliders?

I got the seats today and I managed to make them fit with what was included. (= The slider was too narrow though so that had to go.

I really like the feel of the car now. I sit lower and more secure. It's a cosy feeling and does have the added benefit of making the car "Feel" like a racecar. And feel is what it's all about. (=

I still used the spacer bracket that was included, (I had to modify this to make it fit the original holes in the floor, plus I bolted the seat belt receptacles to them) so I am like an inch higher.

I am a fan of sitting low to (= It just feels right!

looks good, you should also look into dropping your steering column a little. makes a lot of difference when you're sitting pretty low
