Hey there, i recently bought a 1985 325e and noticed the passenger's side window will not roll down: the windows are automatic. First i removed the window switches and swapped the driver's side one for the passenger's side, nothing different, both switches worked. Then i disassembled the door panel, took off the weather plastic, and eventually got what i think is the window motor out. I took the shield off, cleaned the inside of all the old, dry grease inside, put new bearing grease in, reassembled it and it still wont work. When i press the switch i can hear the same noise the driver's side window makes when i roll it down, however the window on the passenger's side will not roll down. At this point I am stuck; I don't know if i should buy a new motor and install it, or if there is another way to fix the one I have. Any advice is appreciated! Thank you!

If you hear the same noise, that means either the teeth on the end of the motor are stripped or they aren't meshing with the window regulator for some reason. You'll have to take the door card back off and watch what happens to know for sure.Interested in vintage cars? Ever thought about racing one? Okay, and when you say door card, do you mean the silver outside of the motor or the door panel or something else? Like i said i'm new to all this :). Thank you for responding as well ELVA164Comment

The door card is the cardboard piece that you had to pop off to see inside the door. "Door panel."Interested in vintage cars? Ever thought about racing one? Info, photos, videos, and more can be found at www.michaelsvintageracing.com!

So we can get the screw looking thing to spin, however when we press it down too hard and when we put it in the rest of the motor it seizes up. We think that the spinning screw part isn't catching on the rotating gear in the rest of the motor. Any advice? Thanks in advanceComment
